OUR PROGRAMS
Personal Development, Educational Support, and Community. All in One Place.
Every program Dear Black Girl offers is built around a core belief: women do not need to be fixed. They need space, tools, community, and support. When those things come together, transformation follows naturally and it lasts.

FLAGSHIP PROGRAM
The Dear Black Girl Cohort Experience
Our cohort program is a multi-week personal development experience that guides women through reflection, healing, accountability, and goal-setting in community with other women on the same journey.
Small cohort sizes are intentional. This is not a lecture or a webinar. It is a lived experience. Women build real relationships, do real work, and leave with real results.
Each cohort moves through:
-
• Self-perception and identity
-
• Emotional wellness and mental health awareness
-
• Forgiveness and healing from past experiences
-
• Personal accountability and resilience
-
• Leadership development and confidence building
-
• Goal-setting and future planning
Since 2020, Dear Black Girl has graduated 9 cohorts and more than 90 women across Jacksonville, FL and Atlanta, GA. Los Angeles launches August 2026.
EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT
The Bridge Grant Initiative
Sometimes a woman is doing everything right and one unexpected expense threatens to derail everything. A car repair. A utility shutoff. A missing textbook. The Bridge Grant Initiative was built for exactly those moments.

The Dear Black Girl Bridge Grant provides emergency financial assistance to students facing short-term barriers that could interrupt their education. Because no woman should have to choose between a temporary hardship and her future.
Bridge Grants may be used for:
-
• Transportation
-
• Groceries and basic living expenses
-
• Books and academic supplies
-
• Utility assistance
-
• Technology needs
-
• Emergency housing-related costs
-

To date, Dear Black Girl has awarded 6 Bridge Grants. The goal is to continue awarding more as funding grows.

She Is Becoming Who She Was Created to Be. We Help Her Get There.

Dear Black Girl Teen will also offer scholarship opportunities for girls who qualify and are seeking to further their education, helping reduce barriers as they take their next steps academically and personally.

SIGNATURE EXPERIENCES
What Women Move Through

Loving Ourselves Better
Women look honestly at the gap between how they see themselves and how the world sees them. This experience helps to start closing that gap and women leave it differently than they came in.

Forgiveness 360
One of the most powerful experiences in the program. Women do the work of releasing resentment, confronting unresolved pain, and choosing to move forward with clarity. This is the one participants talk about long after graduation.

Stages of Change
Women learn to identify exactly where they are in their growth journey and how to build momentum that actually holds. Grounded in evidence-based frameworks for sustainable change.

Finishing Strong
When the cohort closes, women leave with real, accountable plans for what comes next. Not just intentions. A roadmap.

COMMUNITY PROGRAMMING
Workshops, Events, and Community Conversations
Dear Black Girl extends its reach beyond the cohort through workshops, support circles, and community conversations that deepen connection and bring the work to more women. To date, we have hosted 12 community workshops focused on healing, self-discovery, mental wellness, leadership, and personal empowerment.
In 2023, we hosted our inaugural Gala, honoring 10 outstanding women and 10 community leaders whose impact reflects the values Dear Black Girl was built on.
PARTNER WITH US
Ready to Invest in What Actually Works?
Black women continue to face real gaps in mental wellness support, educational access, economic mobility, and leadership opportunity. Dear Black Girl does not just acknowledge those gaps. We build bridges across them, one woman at a time.
Our programming is designed by someone with lived experience, grounded in evidence, and delivered with the cultural understanding and community trust that make the difference between a program someone attends and a program that changes their life.
Your investment supports:
-
• Cohort implementation and facilitation
-
• Bridge Grant funding for students facing immediate barriers
-

Dear Black Girl is 100% community-driven, sustained through individual giving, merchandise sales, and grant support. We are actively seeking foundation partners, major donors, and community investors who believe what we believe.
"When women and students are given both emotional support and tangible resources, generational change becomes possible."
